One soldier killed in Yala insurgent shooting

YALA, Oct 11 – A soldier on Monday was shot dead by two presumed muslim insurgents en route to his post in strife-torn Yala’s provincial seat, according to police.

Sgt-Maj Banjob Injan, 53, was gunned down while riding his motorcycle on his way to work in Pattani’s Yarang district.

The victim was shot in his torso and died at the scene in Yala municipality. His body was found lying near his motorcycle.
