Iranian arrested in Bangkok for smuggling 5 kilos of ‘ice’

BANGKOK, Sept 27 – An Iranian national was arrested Monday at Thailand’s main international airport for smuggling 5.7 kg of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”, worth over Bt20 million (about US$650,000), into the kingdom.

Customs Department officials inspected the impounded drugs seized from 25-year-old Feizollahi Adel in the international arrival terminal of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Flying to Thailand by Emirates Airline EK 374 from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the suspect went through the baggage scanning process and airport personnel found crystal meth in plastic bags hidden in a microwave unit as packing material.
