Thailand’s Supreme Court rules against Thaksin in assets appeal

Thailand’s Supreme Court has refused an appeal application from the exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra over the seizure of his assets.

A general assembly of 142 supreme court judges voted against hearing the appeal in a closed session.

Mr Thaksin had asked the court to hear an appeal against the seizure of assets worth the equivalent of about $US1.4 billion.
