Thailand’s Flood Death Toll Rises to 19

The death toll of the flood, which has been ravaging nearly one-third of Thailand’s provinces since weekend, rose to 19, and 1,280,344 people had been affected, said the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Friday.

The department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported on Thursday that 15 people had lost their lives in the flooding. One person was reported still missing in Nakhon Ratchasima.

The department said from Oct. 10 to 22, the flood hit 186 districts of 29 provinces in the North, Northeast, East and Central Plains.

Several northeastern and central provinces began to see flood last weekend due to heavy monsoon rainfall, with the northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima hit most severely.
