Tunisian Duo Arrested for Snatching British Tourist’s Gold Necklace in Bangkok
Two Tunisian men have been arrested in Bangkok for allegedly stealing a gold necklace worth 150,000 baht from a British tourist early this morning. The swift capture was aided by alert residents and a rapid police response near the busy Sukhumvit area.

The incident occurred at 6:19 a.m. when 29-year-old Liam Robertson exited a restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 4. He was approached by the suspects, identified as 30-year-old Fahdi Khaled and 32-year-old Marwan Aouissaoui, who pretended to know him. During the encounter, they snatched his gold necklace and fled into a nearby alley.
Robertson, with the assistance of bystanders, managed to detain the suspects until police arrived. Officers from Lumphini Police Station, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom and Pol. Maj. Gen. Witawat Chinnakhom, responded promptly and recovered the discarded necklace from under a street vendor’s cart.
