PM Anutin Charnvirakul said today that Thai troops are capable and ready to deal with Cambodian forces, as he dismissed any further need to explain Thailand’s position after suspending its commitments under the recently signed joint declaration with Cambodia.

He emphasized that his government would never acquiesce to Cambodian demands and would maintain full control over the timing and nature of future actions, while offering the military complete government support in handling the border situation. The announcement marks a dramatic deterioration in relations between the neighboring nations.
