Illegal Chinese Products Worth 10 Million Baht Seized in Bangkok Warehouse Raids
BANGKOK — Consumer protection police have seized over 10 million baht worth of unapproved goods smuggled from China during raids on two warehouses in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian district. The products, which lacked mandatory Thai labels and regulatory approvals, were being sold online to unsuspecting customers.
Quality controls to be tightened on cheap imported Chinese products
Deputy Health Minister Chaichana Dechdecho announced the operation on Tuesday, revealing that the crackdown followed complaints from consumers who received unlabeled items purchased through digital platforms. Police executed search warrants on Monday after investigators confirmed the warehouses in the Samae Dam area were being used to store contraband.
The seized items included potentially hazardous household goods such as mosquito repellents and disinfectants, cosmetics like hair dye and lipstick, and food products including puddings and fruit juices. None carried the required registration numbers or labels from the Thai Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

FDA Deputy Secretary-General Withid Sariddeechaikool urged the public to always check for Thai-language labels and the FDA logo before purchasing goods, emphasizing that these indicate compliance with safety standards. The case has been transferred to the Consumer Protection Police Division for legal action.
