Drunk Taxi Driver Crashes Into Government House in Bangkok
BANGKOK – A 59-year-old taxi driver smashed his vehicle into the gates of Government House in the early hours of Monday morning, causing significant damage to the entrance of the government complex on Phitsanuloke Road in Dusit district.

Police responded to the scene at around 3:30 AM and found the taxi lodged in the steel gate, nearly tearing it off its hinges. Authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle but found no suspicious items.
A drunk cabbie crashed his vehicle into the fence outside Government House on Tuesday morning.
The incident was reported to Dusit police about 3.30am. The taxi slammed into the fence along Phitsanulok Road, knocking down part of it.

The driver, whose name has not been released, admitted to consuming alcohol before the incident. He was taken to Dusit Police Station for a breathalyzer test, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of 159mg/dL—far exceeding Thailand’s legal limit of 50mg/dL.

The case is under investigation, and the driver is expected to face charges for drunk driving and property damage. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and alcohol-related accidents in the capital.
