Thai tourist police arrest Nigerian man on Internet prostitution charges

On December 11, 2024, Thai Tourist Police arrested a 21-year-old Nigerian national, referred to as Mr. John, in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district, near Thephasadin Stadium. The arrest was made following an investigation into allegations that he was offering sexual services through an online platform.

Mr. John reportedly charged 12,000 baht for his services. During questioning, he claimed that this was a means to supplement his travel funds while visiting Thailand.

Authorities conducted a sting operation after monitoring his online activity. Evidence gathered during the operation corroborated the charges.

Eight suspects of Nigerian-led drug network arrested in Bangkok and surrounding provinces

The individual faces charges related to prostitution and unauthorized work under Thai law. He is also being investigated for potential violations of his visa conditions.
