Fire breaks setup across nation as haze season approaches

UTHAI THANI, 13 February 2018 (NNT) – Provinces across Thailand have begun to create fire breaks in areas of dry brush and are preparing precautions against wildfires as blazes are possible between now and April.

In Uthai Thani province, head of the Huay Ka Kang Forest Fire Control Station Chakkrit Singhathanasarn led his unit in setting up fire breaks in the area of Baan Khao Keaw of Lansak District, which is connected to Mae Wong National Park of Nakhon Sawan province, where forest fires occur on an annual basis. A break of 4-5 kilometers is to be constructed this month.
