Farmers sell rice at petrol stations

SARABURI, 5 November 2016 (NNT) – Consumers can now purchase rice directly from farmers at petrol stations nationwide.

General Anantaporn Kanjanarat, Minister for Energy, recently met a group of rice farmers at a car service station in Phra Phutthabat district, Saraburi province. He was following up on the government’s program to allow rice farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers. The objective of the program is to eliminate the middleman.
