Thailand, Myanmar vow to combat IUU fishing

SINGAPORE, 9 October 2016 (NNT) – Thailand and Myanmar agreed to crack down on illegal fishing activities, at the 16th ASEAN+3 Agriculture and Forestry Ministerial Meeting held in Singapore.

Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikalya met his Myanmar counterpart, Aung Thu, at the ASEAN+3 Agriculture and Forestry Ministerial Meeting where the two parties agreed to work collaboratively to stamp out illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
