Nakhon Phanom opens traditional long boat race

NAKHON PHANOM, 12 October 2016 (NNT) – Ninety long boats from Thailand and Laos begin traditional competition for royally bestowed trophy, as general public watches on with enthusiasm.

Nakhon Phanom Deputy Governor Phaitoon Rakprathet presided over the opening session of the traditional longboat competition for trophies bestowed by His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn in front of Phra In Plaeng temple on the bank of Mekong river in Muang Nakhon Phanom Municipality, Muang Nakhon Phanom district, Nakhon Phanom province.
