Xenophobic Violence in Germany Rises by 30% in 9 Months of 2016 Compared to 2015

German Police registered 507 cases of xenophobic violence within nine months of 2016, which constitutes a rise of roughly 30 percent comparing to the entire previous year which saw 389 crimes, local media reported Saturday, citing information obtained by the Green Party from the Interior Ministry under freedom of information act.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The total number of politically motivated crimes against refugees and asylum seekers reached 1800 with 78 instances of arson and eight homicides, Der Spiegel Magazine reported.
