A pair of light fingered British backpackers have become the laughing stock of Thai social media after they were caught on camera stealing food from the plate of a fellow diner before getting a tongue lashing, and a slap on the back of the hand, from one of the cafe employees.

A worker at the unnamed fast food joint on Phi Phi suspected the two female backpackers of stealing food and set up his mobile phone to catch them in the act.
