Transport Ministry denies imposing limit on lowest air fares

BANGKOK, 13 January 2015 (NNT) – Limits have not been placed on how low budget airlines’ fares can go, even though a capping of the upper limit does exist, according to Transport Minister ACM Prajin Juntong.

Responding to comments on the restrictions placed on low-cost airlines’ fares, being circulated on social media, the transport minister said each airline has the right to set its fares as low as it wishes, although he was concerned about excessively low fares badly affecting such an airline’s revenue and services.
