The islands of Similan, Surin and Ta Chai reopen to tourist season

PHANG-NGA, 18 October 2014 (NNT) – A large number of Thai and foreign tourists are flocking into ferries heading to the islands of Surin, Ta Chai and Similan, recognized as 1 of 10 most beautiful archipelagoes in the world.

Mr. Nath Kongkasorn, Chief of Mu Ko Similan National Park said that in the rainy season, the islands are usually hit by monsoons which bring strong wind and high wave. Therefore, the national park needs to close the three archipelagoes for six months in order to ensure safety for tourists and allow the nature around the park to recover.
