Suthep released but faces insurrection charges

People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thaugsuban and two other co-leaders were released by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) this morning soon after they were detained when the Army chief staged a bloodless coup last Thursday.

But Suthep and his two colleagues Akanat Promphanand and Somsak kosaisook, a former state enterprise union leader, were immediately escorted by troops to the Office of the Attorney General to face insurrection charges.
