Two elephants in Hua Hin woke up on Sunday morning with a hangover to rival that of the movie franchise of the same name, finding their tusks significantly shorter and their tails less furry.

65-year-old Plai Boonmee and 24-year-old Plai Thong of Hutsadin elephant foundation were drugged and robbed in the night. Plai Boonmee, being an old male, had particularly big tusks while the young female elephant was noted for her fine tail fur. It is believed that the stolen goods could be valued up to half a million baht.
