No mutant bird flu strain in Thailand: Disease Control Department

BANGKOK, 6 March 2014 (NNT) – The Department of Disease Control indicated on Wednesday that the public should not panic over rumors of mutant strains of bird flu, as no such a strain has been found in Thailand.

According to Disease Control Department Director-General Sophon Mekkhathon, there have been no reports of infections by H7N9, H10N8 and H10N8 influenza strains in Thailand. So far, only seasonal flu infections of H1N1 strain have been reported.
