Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul denies Government hiring US lobbyist

BANGKOK, 13 December 2013 (NNT) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied a report that claimed the ministry hired a US company as a lobbyist.

The Foreign Ministry has issued a statement, saying Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul did not hire an American firm, Davenport McKesson Corporation, to lobby for US support in any project in Thailand.

The statement further indicated that neither the ministry nor the minister himself paid a sum of money to the company to lobby for the Thai government, adding the ministry had no business with the company.
