Lucky Escape for stranded tourists caught in rising tide off Pattaya Beach

Four Thai Tourists in Pattaya for the day from nearby Rayong Province were lucky to escape with their lives on Sunday after being caught in a rising tide off a small beach in North Pattaya.

Pattaya Sea Rescue Units were called to the Gratin Rai Beach in the far Northern outskirts of Pattaya late on Sunday afternoon after the four men aged between 19 and 25 were reported missing. They failed to return to the beach after exploring mud flats approximately 1km from the shoreline, in search of shellfish to take back home with them.
