Narathiwat residents launch anti-violence campaign

NARATHIWAT, March 9 – More than a thousand local residents in this restive southern province rallied today to show their opposition to violence and called on the public to cooperate with the authorities in tackling the insurgency problems.

Some 1,000 representatives from Narathiwat’s 13 districts turned up at the Provincial Islamic Committee Office with national flags and anti-violence banners.
