A Thai court on Thursday ruled to extradite Vito Roberto Palazzolo, who faces jail in his native Italy on charges of associating with the Sicilian mafia.

The Bangkok Criminal Court ruled in favour of extradition on the grounds that Palazzolo’s sentence is on criminal charges, not political ones.
