Mr. Patrick Lawrence Molloy, a 28 year old British man from Cambridge in Eastern England who had travelled to Thailand with his two friends to celebrate his recent release from Prison in UK, drowned as he and his two friends jumped into the sea to escape a group of angry Thai men they had encountered in an all-night discotheque.

Police and Sea Rescue Services were called to Pattaya Beach at the location of the old pier close to the Entrance of Walking Street early on Sunday afternoon to deal with the incident.
