BANGKOK, Nov 24 – Anti-government Pitak Siam group leader Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit called off the rally at the Royal Plaza that was intended by the organisers to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Gen Boonlert announced to the crowd of protesters at around 5pm during a heavy downpour that the rally was ended to save lives of protesters.
