Two killed in separate shootings in Thai deep South

NARATHIWAT, March 25 – An assistant village headman on Sunday was gunned down by suspected insurgents in restive Narathiwat while a defence volunteer was shot dead in Pattani, according to police.

Adisak Tayae, a 53-year-old assistant village headman, was killed in Rueso district on Sunday in a shooting while riding home, according to Pol Lt Ukrit Sangkamanee of Rueso police station.
