Subdistrict chief arrested in drug related case in Pattani

SONGKHLA, Feb 2 – A subdistrict chief allegedly involved in both a drug syndicate and the insurgency in the southern region was detained Thursday in the Pattani provincial seat, according to the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) for Region 9.

The detainee was Maroning Jako, Talubo subdistrict chief, Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkeo, ONCB’s secretary-general, told a news briefing in Songkhla, adding that the authorities also confiscated the suspect’s assets valued at Bt3 million, including cash, gold ornaments, a firearm and a title deed.
