Extradition request for Bangkok blast suspect sent to Malaysia

BANGKOK, Feb 21- Thailand has formally requested extradition of a man suspected of being involved in Bangkok’s explosions in a Sukhumvit neighbourhood last week to the Malaysian authorities on Tuesday, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Thani Thongphakdi.

The Office of the Attorney-General submitted the official request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday at noon, said the ministry spokesperson.

The suspect, Masoud Sedaghatzadeh, an Iranian national, was arrested last week by Malaysian authorities in Kuala Lumpur, one day after three explosions.
