Five men were arrested in Thailand and 1.7 million mathemphetamine pills and 40kg of “ice” or crystal methamphetamine seized in a police action on Saturday night, Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong revealed on Sunday.
Pol Gen Priewpan, the national police chief, said the large haul of drugs were seized on a tip-off by police after an air conditioned bus was stopped for a search in Bang Pahan district of Ayutthaya province at 11pm on Saturday.
