New Democrat Party joins Pheu Thai to form six-party coalition government

BANGKOK, July 7 – Thailand’s New Democrat Party, with only one elected member of parliament, on Thursday announced that it would join the Pheu Thai Party and other four parties in the new coalition government, adding a single seat to a new coalition government with 300 seats in total.

Pheu Thai party leader Yongyuth Wichaidit announced the six-party coalition at a news conference Thursday afternoon with Suratin Picharn, leader of the New Democrat Party and the one elected party-list candidate of the party, Patcharin Munpan.
