Thai Police to increase security during election

BANGKOK, 4 June 2011 (NNT)-The Royal Thai Police has increased security for the upcoming general election, assuring that police will be authorized to arrest violence instigators within 3 days. Gamblers who place bets on the election results will also be prosecuted.

According to National Police Chief Police General Wichean Potphosri, the assessment on the likelihood of violence on the election day will be rated on the scale of 5. He cited a police protection for an MP against a gun attack the worst violence or number 5. However fears for an attack, would be rated 4 on the scale. An arrest warrant will be issued within 3 days of the police report for any crimes during the election.
