Surat Thani pleads for chopper help
Surat Thani province wants three army CH-47 Chinook helicopters to deliver aid to tens of thousands of residents in four districts which are now under water.
It has become the second province to ask for army Chinook helicopter help, after Nakhon Si Thammarat earlier sought the help of two of the giant helicopters for relief delivery and evacuation efforts.
Smaller helicopters are performing relief operations in other provinces.
