DSI files for bail revocation against 9 Red Shirt leaders

BANGKOK, 18 April 2011 (NNT) – The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has petitioned the prosecutor for consideration on revoking the bail of nine core leaders of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD).

Following an alleged insult on the monarchy by nine UDD core figures during the latest rally on 10 April, DSI investigator Police Lieutenant Colonel Thawal Mangkhang today presented chief prosecutor Ruj Khuensuwan with evidence, including documents transcribed from tape-recorded speeches as well as footages in digital files and witness testimonies.

The nine core leaders suspected of breaching the Court’s bail conditions, inciting social unrest and committing lese majeste consist of Mr Jatuporn Prompan, Mr Nattawut Saikua, MD Weng Tojirakarn, Mr Veera Musikapong, Mr Yoswaris Chuklom, Mr Korkaew Pikulthong, Mr Nisit Sinthuprai, Mr Wiphuthalaeng Pattanaphumthai and Mr Kwanchai Praipana.
