Nine Thai policemen killed in suicide in 18 months

During the past 18 months, nine policemen shot themselves to death over personal problems including those related to family and illnesses.

The latest suicide took place last Thursday when Pol Capt Phumisak Racho, Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Children, Juveniles and Women Division, killed himself inside his Benz sedan. This commissioned policeman was just 35 years old. His suicide note said, “I am suffering from stress”.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, 42-year-old Pol Sen Sgt Maj Prasarn Jaengwan shot himself in his temple inside his home on February 24. He had family and financial problems.
