Thai police expect no violence instigation during UDD concert at Khao Yai

BANGKOK, 26 March 2011 (NNT) – The planned concert of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) on Saturday evening at Bonanza Khao Yai is expected to be peaceful while local police have prepared to deploy 300 officers to ensure peace and order.

Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Director-General Tharit Pengdit expected that the seven UDD key leaders who were released on bail last month would take part in the concert, which will be organized at Bonanza Khao Yai in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Mr Tharit believed that the event would be mainly for entertainment, and there should be little involvement in politics; therefore, the DSI does not have to send its officers to keep a close eye on behaviors of the UDD core leaders during the concert.
