Twelve-Year-Old Thai Girl Rescued from Tokyo Massage Parlor in Human Trafficking Case
BANGKOK – A twelve-year-old Thai girl, who was allegedly trafficked to Japan and forced into sexual servitude, is now under the protection of Japanese authorities in Tokyo. The case, which has triggered a cross-border investigation, came to light after the victim sought help from immigration officials in mid-September.

According to Japanese media reports, the girl entered Japan in late June on a tourist visa accompanied by her biological mother. She was reportedly taken directly to a massage parlor in Tokyo’s Bunkyo Ward and abandoned there. For approximately one month, the girl was forced to provide sexual services to an estimated 60 clients, generating around 627,000 yen in revenue, which was allegedly retained by the parlor’s owner and a relative of her mother.

Japanese police have arrested 51-year-old Masayuki Hosono, the owner of the establishment, on suspicion of labor law violations and exploiting a minor. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that consular officials visited the girl on September 24 and verified her status as a victim of human trafficking. She is currently receiving comprehensive care—including housing, medical treatment, and psychological support—at a youth protection center in Tokyo.

Thai authorities, including the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division, are collaborating with Japanese investigators to pursue legal action against all involved parties. Once the investigation in Japan concludes, arrangements will be made for the girl’s repatriation to Thailand, where support and further legal proceedings will continue.
