Brazilian Tourist Arrested After Chaotic Rooftop Incident in Phuket

PHUKET — A Brazilian tourist was arrested in Patong in the early hours of August 23 after climbing onto the roof of a massage parlour on Thaweewong Road and engaging in erratic behavior that required police intervention.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance and found the man on the rooftop, visibly agitated. After initially agreeing to be taken to Patong Hospital for evaluation, he became delirious and uncontrollable upon arrival, prompting hospital staff to seek police assistance.

The tourist was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct, handcuffed, and restrained before being transferred to Patong Police Station for legal processing. Authorities emphasized that his actions posed a risk to both himself and the public.
