PHUKET, Thailand – A Swedish national has been apprehended at a condominium in Phuket after immigration police discovered she was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice connected to a massive transnational call-center fraud ring. The suspect, identified as Mrs. Felicia, was taken into custody in the Moo 9 area of Wichit subdistrict in Muang district, leading to the immediate revocation of her permission to remain in the country.

The arrest operation was executed on August 5 following directives from the commander of Immigration Division 6. Intelligence reports indicated that a dangerous individual linked to an international scam network was hiding in the resort province. Officers from the Investigation Sub-Division of Immigration Division 6, working in tandem with the Phuket Immigration superintendent, raided the condominium and successfully detained the woman, who is heavily wanted in connection with widespread public fraud.

According to the investigation, the suspect and more than 14 alleged accomplices orchestrated a sophisticated scam in early 2022. The group allegedly impersonated staff members from various financial institutions and banks, systematically contacting victims and coercing them into transferring funds. Authorities report that the syndicate successfully executed this fraudulent scheme on more than 163 separate occasions before the network was uncovered and the international arrest warrant was issued.

Swedish Fugitive Arrested in Jomtien Under Interpol Warrant

Immigration records reveal that the Swedish woman entered Thailand on January 31, 2026, through the Ranong Customs Pier checkpoint. She was initially granted a standard tourist visa stay until late March and subsequently applied for an extension at the Phuket Immigration office, which legally permitted her to remain in the country until the end of August. Following her arrest, Immigration Division 6 officially canceled her visa extension. She is currently being held in custody at the Phuket Immigration office while authorities prepare for further legal proceedings and coordinate with international law enforcement.
