The fatal incident unfolded near the Karon football field around 10:00 AM when the victim entered the water with his young son. Approximately thirty minutes later, the boy realized his father had disappeared beneath the waves and urgently notified beach lifeguards.

After an intensive search, rescue teams located the unconscious man 100 meters offshore at 11:00 AM. Despite immediate CPR attempts on the beach by emergency responders, the tourist showed no vital signs. His distraught family insisted on transferring him to Chalong Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had succumbed before arrival.

Karon Police confirmed the investigation remains ongoing but noted no signs of foul play. The tragedy occurred during relatively calm sea conditions, raising questions about potential underlying health factors that may have contributed to the drowning.

This incident follows multiple drownings involving foreign tourists at Phuket beaches this high season. Local authorities reiterated warnings about swimming during dangerous conditions, though today’s accident occurred without red warning flags posted.
