Ministry of Commerce to attract foreign rice buyers next week

BANGKOK, 11th November 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce is preparing to invite buyers and sellers of rice to a negotiating conference next week, while Hong Kong has agreed to purchase a total of 10,000 tons of jasmine rice from Thailand.

Minister of Commerce Apiradi Tantraporn has revealed that her ministry has opened additional market channels for rice sales in 65 provinces and has supported online distribution through ThaiCommerceStore.com. Her ministry also plans on inviting buyers from Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Iran to meet with Thai rice sellers next week to inspect the quality of rice to strengthen credibility.
