Former Bangkok election candidate shot dead at temple

A former election candidate of the defunct Chart Thai Party was shot dead by a lone gunman while he was visiting a temple in Klong San district of Bangkok last night.

Somdet Chao Phraya station police chief Pol Col Anurak Yosprasit said the former election candidate Veera Rodpitak, 54, parked his black Mercedes Benz E200 bearing 3 Gor Thor 3232 Bangkok licence plate at the open car park near the fence wall of Wat Thong Plaeng off Soi Charoen Nakhon 14 last night.
