Thailand-Yunnan sign narcotics suppression deal

CHIANG MAI, 1 June 2016 (NNT) – Thailand and Yunnan Province of China have agreed to cooperate in narcotics suppression in the Mekong River Region through information exchange, in an attempt to eradicate trade and smuggling routes.

The Minister of Justice Gen Paiboon Koomchaya and Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department Executive Deputy Director-General Dong Jialu have witnessed the cooperation protocol signing ceremony between China’s Office of Yunnan Provincial Narcotics Control Committee and Thailand’s Office of The Narcotics Control Board Region 5 Office. The signing ceremony was held at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai.
