More counterfeit thousand baht notes in the market

BANGKOK, 4 July 2014 (NNT) – The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has advised people to check their money carefully as 700 counterfeit one-thousand baht notes are believed to have been dispersed.

The Chiang Mai Banknote Operation Center of the Bank of Thailand has asked people to check their one-thousand baht notes carefully as counterfeit notes bearing the numbers 9ฉA 3828862 and 9ฉA 3828863 were found in the system. The two counterfeit bills found can easily be identified as water marks of H.M. the King on the notes are not visible. The BOT has already reported the findings to police officers for further investigation and is informing the public about the possible spread of the fraud.
