SRT steps up security for train passengers

BANGKOK, 10 July 2014 (NNT) – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has intensified security on trains in the hope to gain more confidence from train passengers who travel during a long holiday starting this Friday. SRT Governor Praphat Chongsa-nguan said the security measures during the long holiday included night-time security patrol on trains and a ban on alcohol sale on board and at train stations.

The measure set to be urgently implemented within these two weeks was second-class night trains for women and children.
