The Thai Journalists Association and the Thai Broadcast Journalists Association on Friday issued a joint statement voicing their opposition to what they described as intimidation of press freedom by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee.

The two media organizations said that PDRC supporters had laid siege to five free TV stations namely Channel 3, Channel 5, Channel 7, Channel 9 and NBT or Channel 11 and forced the management and the editorial staff to broadcast on PDRC’s activities and statements and stop broadcasting on government statements and activities.
