Fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra sent best wishes to the Thai people on the occasion of the traditional Thai New Year and pleaded for unity and peace in the country.

In the message broadcast on digital TV Channel 4, Thaksin said the current situation is quite chaotic because “rule is not rule, law is not law.”
