The Court of Appeals Thursday sentenced Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit to one year in jail without suspension for having defamed former Constitutional Court president Wasant Sroypisut. Earlier, the primary court suspended the one-year jail term for two years.

Both the Appeals Court and primary court found Prompong guilty of defaming Wasant in relation to the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the dissolution case against the Democrat Party in 2010.
