South China Sea dispute: Thailand and China say no quick fix

Bangkok – Thailand on Friday welcomed China’s agreement to meet in Beijing this month to discuss a contentious Code of Conduct in the South China Sea but cautioned that talks will take time.

China will host a senior ministerial meeting with the Association of South-East Asian Nations (Asean) on August 28-29 on establishing a Code of Conduct (COC) in the South China Sea for handling the various territorial disputes between Beijing and the region that threaten another wise peaceful relationship.
