Thai Government Faces Criminal Complaint over Lese Majeste Websites

Thailand’s Democrat Party has filed a complaint with the Department of Special Investigation to charge the prime minister and related officials with negligence in failing to crack down on lese majeste websites.

Deputy Spokesperson for the Democrat Party Mallika Boonmeetrakul has presented evidence to Director General of the Department of Special Investigation Tharit Pengdit to charge Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung, Information and Communications Technology Minister Anudith Nakornthap and Police Chief Police General Priewpan Damapong for violating Article 157 of the Constitution.
